Snow...snow...snow..

Today, October 23, we got snow. It came at first as in little hard balls...like the beans in a bean bag chair. Then it came in little tiny flakes...then big flakes. When it hits the ground it melts because the ground isn't cold enough yet but it's getting there. I love this time of year.

So...here are a few pics. The snow isn't that visable but enjoy anyway.

Yes our yard needs cleaning...we are slowly putting stuff up for winter...we may need to be in a little bigger hurry. Can you see the snow? Posted by Picasa

The First Snow of Winter -- 2006

That is correct. On Wednesday, October 11, in the evening we got our first flurries. Nothing enough to stick. Then Thursday and Friday it flurried on and off...not enough to stick until Friday night the flakes were bigger and came down faster so it stuck but as soon as the sun came up this morning and the temps went up some, it all melted. It makes me long for winter now. Although our downstairs bathroom is a refrigerator. We are going to get plastic and put on the window. You can feel the air coming through it just like a fan.

Guess that's all I've got for now. Take care.

Witches, Jack-O-Lanterns...and Bats!! Oh My!!

We were out front putting the pumpkins out and Mark was fixing a plug out to put the witch up and he was fixing to blow the leaves to us so we could fill our pumpkin leaf bags and the neighbor from down caddy-corner to us came up and introduced herself. So, she stayed and talked till almost dark so we will fill the bags tomorrow. Anyway, we got the pumpkins out and the witch is up and it looks good. While we were sitting out there the bats started diving so I was glad the neighbor left because I didn't want to be rude and go in the house when she was still standing there but the bats make me a little scared. Eeek Eeeek!! I was glad she came over though. I like knowing my neighbors. She seems like a really nice lady.

Baby is kinda moping in her cage today. I don't know if she'll recover or not. She moves around from perch to perch but I just don't know if she will recover.

Ok...Amazing Race is coming on so I got to go.

OH...Had a bad asthma attack today. Don't know why. Just sitting on the couch and I had bad pain in my lungs and when I breathed in it was like I was being shot. Anyway, I thought we were on our way to the emergency room but I got better. Now it is completely fine.

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT MY BABY - PART II

Today Mark and I had a "Date Day". We went to the post office, dry cleaners, Wal-mart and then to the movies to see "The Illusionist". This movie has Edward Norton and Jessica Beil. It is the best movie I have seen in a while. I highly suggest it. It has a twist at the end that is great. Anyway...so we get in the car from the movie and I look at my cel and I had one missed call. Jeremy. He left a message that said "Mom call me, we have had a birdie crisis." Great. So I call him, figured the bird was dead. Anyway, so come to find out, the bird opened the little door on the cage and flew out before it closed. Well...Heidi was right there. So, Jeremy had to pry the bird out of the dog's mouth and no, he isn't dead. In shock...watching his little birdie life flash before his eyes...but not dead. He is favoring one wing but he is able to get on his perch and stuff so I guess he will be ok. Or, he may be dead when we get up in the morning. I had a clothespin on it but he ate it. Or part of it and it moved to where he could open it. Heidi didn't realize she was doing anything wrong though because she has little stuffed animals that she plays with and well...this was one that really moved.

He isn't trying to get out anymore. Take care. I have some pictures we took today in a pumpkin patch and of the moon. The colors are already fading and turning brown. Supposedly snow next week. JOY. I have to get out our winter clothes.

Take care...see ya!!!

Fall, Fall, Fall

Fall is my all time favorite time of year. I love the crispness. I love the beautiful colors of the trees as the leaves are starting to turn and then I love the sound of walking through the leaves. We are getting a couple of pumpkins this weekend. Can't wait! I love to make my own pumpkin seeds in the oven! MMMMM

Anyway, thought I would share some pictures with you. The overhead shots are of when Mark was flying back from Philly...he had to go from Milwaukee to Marquette (for reasons that are beyond us) and then from Marquette he flew in to Iron Mountain. Anyway, the shots are from the plane on the way from Marquette home to Iron Mountain. Can you see the different colors? Then we took a couple of pictures of the trees around our yard. When the sun shines over the house as it is setting, it turns the neighbor's tree the prettiest pinks.

Anyway...enjoy the pictures.

Happy 40th - Mom and Dad

My wonderful parents celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary yesterday, September 30. I called to wish them a happy one and mom said that they got up, wished each other happy anniversary, kissed then dad went out to start mowing and she got ready to go visit her cousin in the hospital and to go to Wal-mart. Don't you love the way they celebrate? I can't ever remember them celebrating. Hopefully they will make their 60th. It may seem strange that they have been married for 40 years and I am 43...get this...I have a brother who will be 50! Actually, mom and dad were married in 1966. Buddy is my step-dad but he has raised me since I was 3 years old and he is the one that I look at as my dad. My real dad died on Feb. 2, 1986. But, anyway, I love my mom and dad so much and wish I could have been with them today when my sister and her family and some other family members joined them for a nice dinner that mom prepared.

Oh well. Take care. HAPPY ANNIVESARY MOM & DAD!! I love and miss you! I had a really good picture of them but I can't find it so I had to settle for this one.
