News from the Bitter North

Yes, it's still cold up here in God's country. The sun is shining and there's not a cloud in the sky this morning, but it is 7 degrees. Mark and Heidi are still in bed. I give him that on Saturdays because we get up at 6:00 a.m. during the week. I can't sleep late no matter how hard I try. I was up at 6:45 this morning.

I had a job interview the other day at a law firm. I hope I hope I hope!!! I really liked the attorney I would be a secretary for. He seemed really nice. It is a firm of 5 partners. I think it may be one of the more affluent legal firms in Iron Mountain. I hope I hope I hope I get it. It is completely different than the other one. I guess I haven't said anything about the other one on here. Let me just put it this way. . . YUCK!!

We are looking for another church. Something else I don't want to go into on here. I just want to say that things are not right at the church we were attending. Sunday we are going to try Family Baptist.

Last weekend was a 3 day weekend so we went to Mark's mom's house. We brought back an excersise machine. It's kinda like a stair climber but not. I can't explain it. It got nasty on Sunday when we were there. There was a lot of snowfall. Luckily when we left Monday the roads were clear. It's about an 8 hour drive, one-way. Heidi was very good traveling. She sometimes decides to be a brat, but this trip she was really good.

I guess that's all I have to report...oh, I have to have a biopsy done on my female organs. The doctor found some stuff she is not happy with so she wants to do it. That will be on the 15th of March. Oh Joy.

See ya!

The ugly part of winter. The snow is nasty from the plows. Posted by Hello

This is the ugly part of winter. The snow is so dirty from the plows. Yuck! Posted by Hello

UP DOWN...UP DOWN

This weather is great. We had 30's & 40's last week so we lost a lot of the snow. Then, yesterday it didn't get out of the 20's and the low last night was 10 and it snowed so there was a blanket of white again. It has flurried all day and is supposed to really snow tomorrow and not get above 20 or so...just in time for the weekend where on Saturday the highs are supposed to be in the upper 30's again. Goodbye snow...again. Oh well, I guess I am just about ready for Spring to get here so I can start planting stuff. We also want to get an outdoor grill with some of our income tax refund. It will be great....grilling, fishing and swimming on my lake. I plan on being outside most of the Spring and Summer.

See ya!

Can you see the turkey through the tree? Posted by Hello

These are turkey's. I don't know if you can see them or not. Posted by Hello

Just another shot of the falls.  Posted by Hello

This shot is from an observation platform. Beautiful!! Posted by Hello

All of the white to the left and around the bank is ice and snow. The falls go under the ice and the river keeps flowing downstream.  Posted by Hello

I am sitting on a bench, which normally would have legs, but this one is covered in snow, just enough uncovered to sit. Thank goodness!! Posted by Hello

Falls with the ice formation on the left.  Posted by Hello

The falls along the path looking through the trees. Posted by Hello

Some of the woods along the path of the falls. The falls is actually through the trees but you can't see them here. Posted by Hello

Great shot of the falls and ice. Posted by Hello

Doesn't it look like it's about to break off? I bet it would look neat doing it. Posted by Hello

So close that you get misted. Mark was pretty wet when he got back up to the top where I was. Posted by Hello

More ice formations...fantastic! Posted by Hello

The ice looks like it is about to break off at any moment.  Posted by Hello
