A New Look for an Old Blog

I decided to change the appearance of my blog. Something for a change. Life gets pretty dull sometimes. Anyway, enjoy!

I MAY BE A LOSER IN SOME PEOPLE'S EYES>>>

DO you know, when I was in Houston and I worked, I had worked at GAR for 9 years when I went to Tyler McLennon/Choicepoint and then I worked there for 9 years. (Something about 9's) ANyway, so I finally got a job here in Iron Mountain at a cash advance place. You go in and if you have a checking account, based on your salary you can get a VERY high interest advance that you have to pay back on your next payday. This girl that is the general manager, Tammy was training me and I was getting it pretty good at it. I was also trained by a lady named Barb who is one of the nicest people I know. She was so kind and understanding and patient. Tammy on the other hand was very intimidating and basically mean. She thought I should automatically get it, fall in to her routine and go on. They told me to find my own routine, which I was doing rather nicely and then there was the day I had an extra $3,000.00 in the til (on the computer, not actually cash) I accidentally closed out the day and it screwed everything up. Tammy was all over me for it. The day had gone perfectly. I had worked by myself all day with only two questions. I was so excited. Anyway, so Tammy came in the next day and she was on me all day, hovering over me with each customer I worked on. I couldn't take it.

My stomach has been in a mess since the first day I started the job. I run to the bathroom constantly. My blood pressure was high again and basically I was making myself sick at this job. So, I quit.

I told Mark that I need a part time secretarial job. Doing what I know. I will find one. I am going to a couple of temporary companies for temp work until I can find something permenant.

I know this makes me look like a loser. I'm really not. I wanted that job to work. My health couldn't take it. Since I quit on Tuesday, I feel perfectly fine. I feel like the weight of the world has been lifted of.

I got to go to the VA and volunteer the other day too. I love it there. I wish I could get a job there. Guess not. Oh well. Hope ya'll don't think bad of me.

SEE YA!!!

He's BAAACCCCKKKKKK!!!

Mark made it back today. I was so glad to see him. Actually I think Heidi was more glad than I was. Oh she was doing some talking to her daddy!!! Oh, if I hadn't mentioned it, Mark had to go on a business trip to Las Vegas. (Tough gig..eh?) Anyway, he flew out of Iron Mountain last Tuesday and he started driving back on Thursday. Ford Motor Company donated a 12 passenger, decked out van for the Disabled American Vets. It is great. Anyway, he will be leaving again in the middle of September to go to Minneapolis for a week. I would have gone with him if I hadn't have gotten my job. I miss him so much when he is gone. I know...some people think we are silly. I just love him so much. He is my rock and I miss him so!!!

Ok...enjoy the pictures....there are some beautiful ones....

See ya!!!

This is the Venitian. I think that's how you spell it. Anyway, this is the hotel I want to stay at some day. Maybe when we win the lottery. It is very expensive.  Posted by Picasa

Beautiful Lazy Sunny Sunday

Today has been the most georgeous day so far. It's almost 3 and it has been a nice breeze. Actually this morning it was cold. We didn't open the front door until about noon. It was chilly!! Anyway, Mark and I went and sat outside for over an hour just enjoying the day and he read the newspaper while I attempted photography of hummers. Ok...we had a little fun too as you will see as you scroll. Heidi of course was there too....she scored big....(see picture). Anyway, just wanted to share our Sunday with you. Enjoy the pictures!!!

(Hope this weather keeps up!!!)

Isn't he handsome? He got a post card from his girlfriend who is in Germany today and I think it brightened his day. He is really missing her. She should be home on the 25th I think.  Posted by Picasa

My Job

Ok...the work schedule I put down in the other entry made it seem that I was working to death!! But...here is how it goes...Mondays I work either from 9-2 or 2-7. Tuesdays I work from 9-7. I am off every other Wednesday, and the Wednesdays that I work I work 9-7. Thursday is 9-7. Friday is either 9-2 or 2-7. I work every other Saturday from 9-3. That's it. It's really not bad. Next week is going to be bad because I am working Tuesday through Friday, training from 9-7 every day. Then, if I feel comfortable, I can work my first Saturday by myself. Hmm. We'll see. Today I helped every customer that came in. It was neat. I think I will catch on really quickly.

So, I think I am going to go to bed soon. Actually I guess I can't because I am listening to the Texans pre-season football game on the net through my favorite country radio station, KILT in Houston. Yes, it's going to cost me $9.95 a month to listen to my favorite Texans but it is worth it. Mark said it was ok. Right now I am doing a 7 day free trial. So, anyway...oh yeah, the Texans aren't doing so hot right now. They are playing Denver and the score is 10-7, Denver and Denver is on the 6 yard line and threatening. Come on FUMBLE!!! Anyway, we'll see. I love football. It is my favorite sport. Love it love it love it!!!

Oh well. We have had the nicest weather. It has not been out of the 70's. Tonight it is supposed to get down to 45 or so. WoooooHoooooo!! It is supposed to get back in to the 80's next week. This has been a really nice break though. It won't be long until the cold weather comes in and stays. (HURRY!!!) I have decided that summer is beautiful, but I like winter time.

Have a good one!!! Take Care!!!

P.S. Denver just kicked a field goal. 13-7...COME ON TEXANS!!!!!

Praise Jesus!!

I got a job!!! It doesn't pay near what I made in Houston but we are just barely in the red and this will bring us out, plus!!! I work for a payday loan place. After my training, I will be the manager. I love it. I must...I didn't quit my first day!! Anyway, everything is done on a computer so it is right up my ally!!

IT is bittersweet though. I am so going to miss my time at the VA. But, the way the hours are, I still can get a couple hours in here and there.

The hours are from 9:00 to 7:00 most days and every other Saturday and Wednesday. But....I don't care. I love it. YEAH!!!

So we will get on our feet and go forward!!! Yeah!!! Now maybe we can afford the high gas bills that we will have in the winter!!

Hope you have a good one! It's so cool here today. It is about 62 now. I put on a sweatshirt when I got home because I was really chilly. IT's also rainy.

Ok...later!!!

Hummers

I sat outside this morning reading the paper and decided to get the camera and take some shots of hummers. I love hummers. Mine are funny. I have a huge picture window in the living room and I have stained glass things hanging on it. Two are of flowers. The hummers come up to the window and just hover like they are trying to figure out how to get to the flowers. It's so funny.

Anyway, I am going to try for some closer shots later.

See ya!

I've had enough!! Hummer leaving feeder. Posted by Picasa
