Happy 2005!!
Well, I made it to midnight. We had bought some horns and poppers and we had fun at midnight. We had a mess on the floor though. The cat loved the streamers. Anyway, so we survived. I fixed a great New Years Day dinner. Of course I had to thave the traditional black eyed peas and cabbage. I also made scalloped potatoes, a pork loin and tempura green beans for Mark. I think me and Jer ate as many as he did though. They were good!! Anyway, Mark made a 22 minute chocolate cake.
New Years resolutions? Not really any. Things we want to accomplish in 2005...many. We want to eat healthier and not buy stock in Coca-cola any more. We drink way way too many sodas!! We are going to take advantage of this wonderful cool spring water that we get out of our tap!! More exercise, if we can figure out how to without freezing to death. We want to get on a budget and stay on one and try to save some money. Mark's car will be paid off soon and that will be another $350.oo a month that we can put away. I want to be a better wife. I have the worst attitude some times. I treat Mark like poo sometimes and I really don't mean to, it just comes out. I want to do better. I want to have a closer walk with the Lord. As for everything else, I guess it will just fall in to place. Oh, I want our health to be better. That's it.
New Years day I was really homesick. I wanted to go jump in the car and go straight to my moms house. Yes, it would have taken me two days to get there but I wanted to so badly. This is the first time since we moved here that I was really really homesick.
We watched the Rose Bowl on New Years Day. Way to go HORNS!!! It was Michigan and Texas. Ok...my body may be in Michigan and if they hadn't been playing Texas then I would have been for them but they were playing the Horns and since my heart is still in Texas, I had to be for them. Boy what a game!!! It was close all the way. Once Michigan got ahead though I thought that was it for Texas. But, they gained momentum and won by one point!!! HOOK'EM HORNS!!!
We also cleaned house yesterday. My it looks so pretty. I still need to scrub floors but I thought I would wait till Mark went back to work. He goes back Tuesday. I am kinda glad. Not that I don't love him being here but when he's here I don't get anything accomplished because I don't want to do anything but sit around with him. I really think he is ready to go back too. He would have gone back tomorrow but we had planned on taking Jeremy to the airport tomorrow. Come to find out I had read the interenet site wrong and Jeremy's dorms doesn't open until the 16th or 17th. So, we are taking him to the airport on the 14th.
I guess that's all I have to say. We lost a lot of our snow in the last couple of days. People can't understand why it is so warm here. By now there should be 4 feet of snow on the ground and in the teens all the time. Jeremy says it's because he's here.
I hope that everyone has a wonderful happy 2005.
