The Weatherman Said "Bitterly Cold" ... He was right!

The weatherman said that on Sunday it was going to bitterly cold. Yep. He was right!! Jeremy got in to Rhinelander on time. I was so glad to see him but his hair was so long!!! It had been snowing our whole way there and while we were at the airport. This airport is about as big as a large Walgreens. It has three gates, one gateway thing that they hook to the airplane and about two or maybe three TSA agents. It is actually really pretty inside. Oh, parking is $.25 an hour. Wow...don't know if we can handle it. Oh, we didn't have to pay because the meter was frozen and you couldn't get money in it.

We had brought Jeremy his coat, gloves, hat and a scarf to the airport. He bundled up and we walked out the door in to the blowing snow and he turned around and started walking back in. Mark said "where are you going, the car's this way." Jeremy said "I'm going back to Texas!!!" So, we got in the car and went to eat and then headed back home. It's about an hour and a half drive. Then we took him to Norway Mountain and showed him the ski lodge and where we stayed at the condo. He and Mark got out of the car and went and looked down the ski hill. I stayed in the car because the wind was blowing up that mountain and it was like a knife cutting right through you. We next went to get him and Mark a haircut and we bough Jeremy some weather appropriate shoes. Then we finally made it home. Heidi was so excited to see him!

So, last night it got down to -6. It said it felt like -22. I believe it!! So, this morning we got up and got ready for church. Jeremy was freezing. Even in the house!!! Anyway, we left and went to church. It was good. We exchanged gifts in Sunday school. Mark and Jeremy got $10.00 gift cards and I got a rug.

Afterwards we ate chinese and then we went to cut our own tree. Ok...Mark and Jeremy actually went and did it. I got out, walked half way and turned back around and told them I trust them. Jeremy picked it out. Mark cut it down. I really is pretty. We haven't decorated it yet. We are going to do that tomorrow night. It is so funny. There was a sign at the lot that said "honor system", $15.00 a tree. You put the money in a lock box.

Now we are at home. Trying to stay warm. It is -4 out. It's a little after 8:00 p.m. Wow. You know how the cold feels? It doesn't so much feel cold, it burns. Kind of like when you were a kid and you put your hand on the frozen stuff inside of a freezer. (Ok, maybe I am the only one that did that.) It burns. It's weird. I mean, I'm not griping. I love it here. I am just saying it's a weird cold. It is bearable when the wind is not blowing. When the wind is blowing....brrrrrrrrr!!

A story about Jeremy's flight....When he got on the plane in Houston, he was in the aisle seat of a 3 seat row. Yes, Jeremy is a big guy. He was already worried about it, but this lady came in and said that she was not going to sit by a fat person. She went up and started raising cane with the flight attendants and she got so loud and rude that they made her get off the plane. They came back and just apologized and apologized to Jeremy. He said he was almost in tears. It embarrassed him so badly. People need to understand that there are all types of people in this world. Our family is of the large type of people in this world. People do not realize how badly words can hurt people. I wish that people would understand how their words can stab people in their hearts. Please remember that. Fat people have feelings too.

Anyway, Jeremy is here and I am so glad. I am going to chain him to the basement pillar so that he can't leave on the 3rd. Ok... bye!!!
