Happy 4th of July!!
We were up at 6:00 this morning to get ready to be at the VA by 7. We had to help get the flag poles and flags up for the parade. Then we sat and talked to people and met the sweetest couple. Actually, we new the man, Smitty already because he is a volunteer. Today we met his lovely wife Eva. They have been married for 62 years. Isn't love wonderful? I hope that Mark and I will last even half that long....hopefully longer...but, you understand what I'm saying. So, we sat and talked to Smitty and Eva for a while. Then they started bringing down the patients to watch the parade. We passed out ice cream to them and then the parade started. It was great. Beautiful weather. It lasted about an hour and a half. I got pelted with candy from the floats. (After the parade we drove down the parade route and there was so much candy along the road!!) Then we left and went up to the house and took some pictures.
I was so impressed with the people in the parade. When they got in front of the VA and the patients, they either saluted or clapped and yelled thank you to them. It was very moving.
Ok, about the house...Mark came home Saturday and said I have found your house. (I dont't like neighbors and want to be out where there aren't any.) So we got in the car and went to look at it. It's close to downtown, but up on the mountain. Actually it's called Millie Hill. Anyway, there is this huge...beautiful house on this road. It's for sale. We haven't been able to get ahold of the owner yet, but oh my. I fell in love and it's just the outside that I have seen. (Actually we looked in a couple of windows. ) This house is huge. IT would make a great bed and breakfast. Anyway, I can't wait to go in it and look at it. Ok... so the next thing you think of is, the house in Amityville Horror was beautiful too. I know. I thought about that...but I don't know if I would care if we shared it with a ghost. (As long as it was friendly!!) Anyway...I'll keep you updated.
It does need a little work. Not a lot though. See ya!
HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!!!
