This is Crisp Point Lighthouse and Life Saving Station at one time. It was built in 1903 and taken out of service in 1993. It was put on the endangered lighthouse list as the most endangered in 1997. In 1998 the Coast Guard sold it to Luce County who gave a 40 year lease on it to the Luce County Historical Society who through donations are restoring it to it's orginal glory. The large rocks are to stop beach erosion to keep the light from falling in to Lake Superior. This is my absolute favorite lighthouse. Picture taken by Mark.
My Place to Rant
This blog is the every day rantings of a 44 year old mad woman. Just kidding. It is my rantings, but I don't think I am mad...we have been in the Upper Peninsula now for 2-1/2 years and things are still great. Miss my family in Texas though. Love Ya'll!!
