Our Trip
We left here in a government vehicle on Wednesday morning at 7:00 and took Heidi to the kennel. Then we headed for Rhinelander, WI where the first Out Patient Clinic Volunteer Luncheon was. The outpatient clinics are called CBOCs. We had a nice lunch and met nice people but we think we are going to try a new place next year because the room was really small and there were a lot of people. Then when that was over we packed up and headed to the next one in Ironwood, MI. We had time to kill so we drove around and found some really pretty waterfalls. We could only see one of them though. The others are closed until mid May. Then we went and had the dinner. It was a lot of fun. Then we left and drove to Ontonagon, MI. There were so many deer on the sides of the road. It made me nervous. Mark had to go to the VFW there for a Van Driver orientation. That night we stayed at Scott's Superior Inn. We were the only people in the whole motel. There were these black bears(3) and a skin and other animals in the lobby. The guy, Scott killed them all right there in that area. Oh Boy!! Anyway, Mark had to go out to the car and get something and I told him to watch out for the bears....he said when he went around the corner he knew the bears were there but they gave him a little start!!! I thought it was funny.
We got up the next morning and left for Houghton/Hancock, MI in the Keewenaw Peninsula. Hancock is the most beautiful town. It is in the side of a mountain. We had the CBOC lunch there. Then we left and went to Marquette, MI and had the CBOC dinner and spent the night. Got up EARLY and drove for 3 1/2 hours to Sault Sainte Marie, MI and had the CBOC luncheon there. The Mayor of the Soo was there. Also the State Commander for the Disabled American Veterans. She invited us to go down to Saint Ignas for her retirement party. So, we did. We really enjoyed it. I won a door prize. It was a basket with different patriotic stuff in it. Then we went to the Hotel and died.
We got up the next morning and set out on our lighthouse adventures. We went to Whitefish Point and Crisp Point. Pictures are below. Then we got home about 7:30 p.m. and at 10:30 my head hit the pillow. I was so tired!! This morning we got up and went and got Heidi. She was so happy to see us. We were her too!!
SO that was our great adventures. Tuesday is surgery. I am nervous.
Bye!!
